Reedsport School District is seeking applications for a Sophomore Class Advisor at Reedsport Community Charter School. This position will act as a liaison between school, student, and parents to improve communication. Duties include participating in the advisory class once per month and hosting 1-2 fundraisers per year. We are willing to train the right candidate!

Salary Range: Stipend range of $988 - $1,646 (Based on the 2024-25 salary schedule. The 2025-26 salary schedule has not yet been negotiated.)

Hours: Approximately 1 hour per week / 40 hours per year.

Position start date: 2025-26 school year

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job.

  • Assists students with toileting, hygiene, and feeding, encouraging independence or partial participation, while incorporating safe practices.
  • Provides instruction and follow-up support to students in community activities.
  • Works with students on eating and dressing skills.
  • Stimulates language through receptive and expressive language programs, total communication, and augmentative communication strategies.
  • Carries out instructional programs as directed by teacher.
  • Helps implement behavior programs.
  • Provides one-to-one and/or group assistance to students in the delivery of instruction for vocational and career related employment activities.
  • Follow protocols, such as feeding, lifting, Medical, etc., as written by service providers and/or itinerant staff.
  • Administers medication when prescribed. records seizure activity.
  • Transports students to designated areas as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student records and of ESD staff, and complies with state and federal regulations regarding privacy.
  • Maintains regular attendance in order to preserve the continuity of service delivery for the program.
  • Meets standards for competent and ethical performance as outlined in OAR 584-20-005-035.
  • Performs the duties of the Mandatory Reporters according to ORS 419B.005-ORS 419B.045.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid CPR/First aid card.
  • Must have a valid Oregon driver's license, automobile insurance and provide own transportation.

  • Observe safety and security procedures: report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Promote school safety.  Supervise home athletic contests.  Supervise away games as needed.  Act as host to officials and visiting teams.  Oversee employees and volunteers who work at the contest.
  • Coordinates coaching staff.
  • Oversee and supervise the coaches in the cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms, including the maintenance of updated inventories (including but not limited to safety recertification of football helmets and other PPE for teams).
  • Constructs the district annual budget as it relates to athletics.
  • Evaluates athletic programs to assure a consistent and meaningful sequence of instruction and a well-balanced involvement of all interested students.
  • Develops and maintains schedules for all athletics.
  • Develops and maintains eligibility file for all high school athletes.
  • Work with coaching staff and transportation supervisor to schedule transportation for all away contests.
  • Secure game workers for athletic contests, chain crews, announcers, clock operators, score keepers, line judges, etc.
  • Oversees and maintains an updated inventory of all equipment and supplies related to athletics.
  • Ensures the proper form(s) (insurance, attendance, medical) are obtained and current for participants.
  • Works cooperatively with facilities manager and administrators to maintain all fields and facilities.
  • Serves as the liaison between district, the news media and patrons regarding athletic events.
  • After work hours are routine and expected.
